Job Summary The Industrial Engineer III is responsible for strategically planning, designing, and managing integrated production and service delivery systems within the site. This advanced-level role focuses on complex challenges in SMT, Electro-mechanical Assembly (HLA), and Facility Planning. The primary objective is to drive profitability, quality, and continuous improvement through the application of advanced LEAN principles, Work Measurement, and cost control methods, ensuring optimal performance, reliability, and schedule adherence across all manufacturing processes.

Requirements

  • Minimum five (5) to eight (8) years of experience in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • Expert understanding and practical application of a broad range of industrial engineering tools, including Work Measurement, Simulation, Process Mapping, Operations Research, and Facilities/Workstation Design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in manufacturing processes relevant to Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS), specifically high-volume SMT and complex Electro-mechanical (HLA) assembly.
  • Proven track record of successful Change Management accomplishments, implementing, and managing Continuous Improvement and Cost Reduction programs (e.g., LEAN, Six Sigma).
  • Strong financial and analytical ability, including Business Model Cost Analysis and quoting processes. Understanding of global strategies and site capabilities.
  • Advanced proficiency in personal computers, Microsoft Office products, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Project, and AutoCAD skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Lead Improvement Projects: Function as the project leader for complex initiatives designed to eliminate waste and optimize operational efficiency through the standard Industrial Engineering process. This includes leading advanced studies such as Complex Process Simulation, Operations Research, and Business Model Cost Analysis.
  • Provide expert support to the Lean organization by developing a solid process foundation, ensuring data integrity, and driving process improvement throughout the Workcells.
  • Own the validation and maintenance of accurate Time Standards, including precise cycle time and Takt Time calculations, to ensure capacity modeling and scheduling accuracy.
  • Drive continuous improvement across processes, systems, and product assembly, ensuring all procedures and work instructions are efficient and non-redundant.
  • Own the technical design and optimization of human interfaces for both Surface Mount Technology (SMT) lines and High-Level Assembly (HLA) / Box Build areas.
  • Execute and manage the advanced layout planning for Workcells and plant floor areas to maximize flow, density, and utilization.
  • Design and optimize comprehensive material handling systems, including raw material delivery, storage, line feed systems, product flow, and online material handling.
  • Develop and implement strategies for WIP (Work In Process) management, sizing, buffer storage systems, and advanced ergonomic workstation design.
  • Drive process-related activities for New Product Introduction (NPI) and accurately prepare quotes and cost analysis for Box Build products and proposed projects.
  • Own and drive key yield improvement programs in designated areas or for assigned customers.
  • Drive the standardization of SAP and Manufacturing Execution System (MES) configurations to ensure process compliance and data integrity across the site. Provide system support (e.g., SAP, MES, IEDB).
  • Coach, mentor, and train other engineers, technicians, and operators. Ensure the standardization of all Jabil processes throughout the site in accordance with global, regional, and site directives.
  • Own the update and reporting of key Industrial Engineering metrics and drive essential process mapping activities for the assigned customer or area.
  • Continuously collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Purchasing, IT, Technicians, and Operators, to execute site strategy.
