About The Position

Reporting to the Manager of Manufacturing Engineering, the Industrial Engineer II is responsible for developing and implementing production and process layouts that improve efficiency across plant operations. This role focuses on continuous improvement in manufacturing and warehouse processes, designing policies and standards, and working with vendors to optimize equipment and workflow for current and future needs. A key part of this role is fostering a culture of safety by enhancing processes, standards, and facility layouts that prioritize the well-being of employees and compliance with safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with 4-6 years related experience
  • Able to multitask while ensuring focus and passion for delivering high quality work. Can execute on multiple projects at the same time.
  • Able to use engineering tools and software packages to design and automate manufacturing processes
  • Able to use empirical analysis, modeling and methodologies to validate manufacturing process and tooling design and specifications
  • Organizational, communication, presentation, and project management skills to interface with all levels of the organization, suppliers, and customers.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general technical periodicals, professional journals, blueprints, schematics, drawings, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Knowledge and experience working in a team environment

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of problem-solving fundamentals.
  • Experience in high mix - low volume production processes
  • Knowledge and application of LEAN Manufacturing techniques
  • Knowledgeable in AutoCAD and Inventor modeling software

Responsibilities

  • Design and optimize production layouts to increase efficiency and reduce costs.
  • Identify and eliminate waste using lean manufacturing principles and time-and-motion studies.
  • Develop and implement process control systems to support continuous improvement.
  • Establish accurate labor standards through work sampling and analysis.
  • Apply Industrial Engineering concepts to line management, capacity analysis, scheduling, production planning, head count and layout planning.
  • Maintain master data and analyze capacity constraints for long-term manufacturing planning.
  • Build value stream maps and process flows to support standard work documentation.
  • Collaborate with key cross-functional teams regarding production design, capabilities, communication processes, tooling, and material handling equipment.
  • Support new model launches and product revisions across assembly operations.
  • Research and rationalize capital equipment expenditures for efficient and economical manufacture of high mix - low volume products
