About The Position

As an Industrial Electrician at Cherokee Federal, you will install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems and equipment in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have experience working with high-voltage systems, control panels, motors, and automated machinery to ensure smooth and safe operations. Your ability to analyze blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams will be essential in determining installation procedures, all while minimizing material waste and cost.

Requirements

  • Must have ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical school or apprenticeship preferred.
  • Licensed as an Industrial Electrician (if required by state or local regulations).
  • Minimum 2 years of experience in industrial electrical work.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, motors, PLCs, VFDs, and automation controls.
  • Ability to work with high-voltage systems and troubleshoot complex electrical issues.
  • Experience with industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, and generators.
  • Proficiency in using electrical testing and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and weekends if needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a manufacturing, warehouse, or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety practices.
  • Familiarity with PLC programming and automation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, wiring, circuits, and components in an industrial setting.
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues in machinery, control systems, and power distribution.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment to minimize downtime.
  • Test electrical systems using tools such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, and thermal imaging cameras.
  • Ensure compliance with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and other safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to improve system reliability.
  • Upgrade and retrofit electrical systems to improve efficiency and performance.
  • Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and inspections.
  • Adhere to all safety protocols and company policies.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
