About The Position

The Industrial Electrician II TFR (Taco Fall River) performs a wide range of duties in support of both building and machine electrical systems, as well as physical plant maintenance.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Massachusetts Journeyperson Electrician License
  • 6+ years of industrial electrician experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in computer skills and Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Basic knowledge of CNC equipment
  • Proficient in electro-mechanical skills to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues
  • Up to date knowledge of current electrical codes
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Knowledge to operate volt-ohm meters, continuity testers, wire tracing equipment and other equipment used for typical electrician duties
  • Advanced working knowledge of relays, controls, sensors and switches
  • High level of Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) knowledge, including ability to read PLC programs
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code
  • Proficient in the operation of HVAC systems
  • Ability to perform physical demanding tasks, such as climbing ladders and high range scissor lift
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs without assistance; use hoists and other necessary equipment for lifting as required
  • Ability to be self-motivated and work in both team and individual settings

Nice To Haves

  • Associate Degree in Electrical or Electronics Technology
  • Massachusetts Master Electrician License
  • Experience in welding and plasma cutting equipment repair and operation

Responsibilities

  • Supports the manufacturing process by troubleshooting, performing preventative maintenance, and repairing manufacturing and processing machinery and equipment, including Computer Numerical Control (CNC) equipment.
  • Performs complex duties to design, install, repair, and maintain all electronic and electrical equipment, motors, and controls for new and existing machinery.
  • Performs a large variety of tests on all electrical systems. Balances loads and power factor and installs transformers as necessary.
  • Diagnoses and troubleshoots advanced level issues with HVAC systems, electronic and electrical safety controls.
  • Troubleshoots and identifies needs for intermediate repairs to automation equipment using manuals, schematics, Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs, meters, and hand tools.
  • Determines wire sizes as required to manage load effectively and safely against overload and to ensure efficient installation.
  • Researches and recommends new replacement parts for equipment. Sources sites/vendors with high-quality low-cost parts.
  • Performs all aspects of electrical construction and maintenance.
  • Installs and services generating equipment, switchboards, motors, starters, lighting circuits, circuit breakers, AC and DC motor controls. Identifies root cause of malfunctions to drive efficiencies.
  • Troubleshoots, diagnoses and resolves CNC coding issues.
  • Creates and updates Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) programs to adjust for equipment differences.
  • Works with outside vendors on any special projects requiring third-party intervention.
  • Replaces malfunctioning hoists and checks battery charges on forklifts.
  • Installs, tests and services computer cables as well as installs communication lines.
  • Services building security system as needed.
  • Remains current with electrical code requirements.
  • Assists team members with troubleshooting more advanced electrical issues.
  • Completes work orders and maintains computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Performs preventative maintenance and upgrades to wiring, conduit, and electronic control systems.
  • Diagnoses malfunctioning systems and components using test equipment such as voltmeter, ohmmeter, and megohmmeter.
  • Collaborates with other team members to complete projects on time and within budget.
  • Works independently to drive efficiency through planning out electrical projects.
  • Follows all health and safety rules, regulations, and practices at all times, including Lockout/Tagout procedures.
  • Maintains a clean and neat working environment.
  • Performs other duties as required or directed.
