About The Position

Picture a shift where your expertise keeps a massive steel operation running smoothly. As an Industrial Electrical & Controls Maintenance Specialist, you’ll be the go-to problem solver for complex electrical systems in a heavy industrial environment. You’ll install, maintain, repair, and operate a wide array of electrical and electronic equipment—working with both standard and specialized tools, as well as mobile equipment, pendant and overhead cranes, and forklifts—to support continuous operations. What you’ll tackle Diagnose and repair electrical and electronic systems using schematics, AC/DC theory, and PLCs. Install, maintain, and overhaul equipment to maximize uptime and reliability. Support operating functions when needed to keep production on track. Work independently with minimal supervision or collaborate with other technicians, depending on the task. Travel between plant areas where conditions may be hot, cold, dirty, greasy, wet, and noisy. What you bring At least 1 year of manufacturing/industrial experience or equivalent education (military experience welcome). Relevant exposure may include: industrial electronics, motors and controls, electrical power and schematics, print reading, computers and PLCs, electronics, AC/DC theory, power, test instruments/instrumentation, electrical maintenance, and commercial construction/installation. High School Diploma or GED. Willingness to work rotating 8-hour shifts, including Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. Ability to work overtime as required. Commitment to safety at all times, including wearing PPE: hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective clothing, and boots with metatarsal protection. Reliable attendance, punctuality, and self-direction in a fast-paced environment. Ability to pass required assessment test(s).
