About Novolex At Novolex, we innovate across paper, plastic, and sustainable materials to serve foodservice, retail, healthcare, and industrial markets. Our sustainability approach rests on three pillars—products, operations, and people—which guide our progress and shape our future. A Day in This Role You arrive to a buzzing manufacturing floor where uptime matters. First, you scan maintenance tickets in the CMMS, review overnight equipment logs, and coordinate priorities with engineering and machine operators. By mid-morning, you’re troubleshooting a PLC-driven line, fine-tuning an HMI screen, and validating a VFD parameter change to meet a product spec. After lunch, you bend and run conduit for a new installation, bench-repair an offline component for the spares rack, and document every part used so inventory stays accurate. Before you wrap up, you assist in revising a work instruction to capture the improvements you implemented—because continuous improvement is how production keeps moving. What You’ll Do Perform corrective and preventive maintenance, repairs, new installs, upgrades, and changes on industrial production equipment and facility systems; record work and parts usage in writing or in the CMMS. Troubleshoot hardware and software for PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, AC/DC drives, temperature controls, and computer-based systems. Repair and upgrade machinery to support manufacturing throughput and quality. Program and set up equipment to meet defined product specifications. Create, modify, and update manufacturing work instructions and process-flow documentation. Program, adjust, transfer, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and VFD applications. Assemble, disassemble, diagnose, and maintain electro-mechanical systems—manual and automated—using schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal direction. Run/bend conduit, mount boxes, pull feeders, and perform terminations. Bench work: diagnose, rebuild, repair, and test offline parts/equipment for restock; red-tag and notify lead/supervisor when replacement or third-party repair is required. Operate safely, accurately, and quickly with minimal supervision; remain composed and effective under pressure. What You Bring Associate degree in Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance Certification, or 3+ years as an industrial electrician with mechanical exposure; manufacturing background preferred. Proficiency with electrical systems and wiring, including 120/277/480 VAC and 3-phase power. PLC experience; exposure to Allen‑Bradley platforms and RSLogix is a plus. Experience with VFDs, DC, and servo drives. Process control experience including 4–20 mA loops, positioning feedback, and analog control. Experience with temperature control systems. Deep knowledge of industrial electrical systems maintenance. Background with hydraulic and pneumatic systems. Why It Matters Your technical judgment and craftsmanship keep complex production lines reliable—and that reliability powers our customers’ success and advances our sustainability mission.
