Withum’s Outsourced Accounting Systems and Services (OASyS) team is seeking an Outsourced Accounting Lead Consultant to join our growing team in the Whippany, NJ office. This role will be a hybrid-based position. The Outsourced Accounting Lead Consultant will oversee and work together with staff and senior team members to service a wide range of consumer products organizations, specifically in the restaurant and franchise industries. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required
  • 5-7+ years of accounting experience
  • Outstanding communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • CPA preferred and/or MBA equivalent
  • Preferred experience with NetSuite, Sage Intacct Accounting System and/or QuickBooks
  • Experience working with industrial and consumer products clients (specifically restaurants and multi-unit franchise operators) with a basic understanding of accounting reporting preferred
  • Involvement in their community and desire to “give back”

Responsibilities

  • Supervising a team
  • Reviewing and approving payments to vendors / contractors
  • Reviewing and approving payroll
  • Handling month-end close process
  • Reviewing and approving all proposed JEs
  • Reviewing all reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
  • Monthly financial reporting including FS, narratives and dashboards
  • Assisting with grant reporting and submissions
  • Budgeting / cash flow forecasting
  • Working with client leadership of organization
  • Facilitating outside annual audits
  • Ensuring proper internal controls and enhancement of processes
