WildeckWaukesha, WI

About The Position

Picture a typical shift: you connect with the Director, Manufacturing Operations and the Manufacturing Supervisor, review the day’s schedule, walk the paint line, and make the first call on set-ups. You direct painters and paint attendants, allocate tasks, and keep the operation moving while you personally monitor finish quality and equipment performance. When needed, you jump in hands-on—painting, hanging parts, or assisting on the line—to make sure orders ship right and on time.

Requirements

  • At least two years of related experience as a painter and/or paint line attendant.
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings or prints.
  • Solid math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division with whole numbers, fractions, and decimals; comfortable using a calculator.
  • Proficient with a tape measure.
  • Basic computer literacy in a Windows environment and familiarity with an ERP system.
  • Core values of honesty, integrity, respect, teamwork, and collaboration.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and train painters and paint attendants; assign daily work and provide clear guidance.
  • Review shop drawings, blueprints, and BOMs to determine coating requirements and estimated paint time.
  • Verify paint specifications for each order before work begins.
  • Observe paint application in real time to catch defects early and correct them.
  • Inspect finished parts for paint quality prior to tagging and packaging; assist with tagging/packaging as needed.
  • Set up spraying equipment, adjust settings, and make changeovers as required.
  • Maintain spray guns, pumps, and the paint exhaust filter system for consistent performance.
  • Devise creative hanging and fixturing solutions to maximize coverage and throughput.
  • Notify Purchasing when materials, coatings, filters, or supplies are needed.
  • Participate in production meetings to provide status updates and plan upcoming builds.
  • Handle and move parts using proper techniques—by hand, power hoist/crane, or forklift.
  • Work safely and proactively: follow shop safety rules and safe manufacturing processes; step in as a painter or paint line attendant when required.
  • Keep the work area clean and organized through strong housekeeping practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support production goals.
