About The Position

The Industrial Buyer is responsible for developing and managing a supplier base that supports company objectives related to quality, cost, delivery, and production requirements. This role plays a critical part in supporting flexible manufacturing schedules and ensuring material availability through effective purchasing and supplier management practices.

Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum of 3 years of purchasing experience in a custom equipment manufacturing environment
  • Experience supporting flexible or variable production schedules
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems (Epicor 10 preferred)
  • Strong computer skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working independently
  • Collaborative, positive, and team-oriented mindset
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Responsibilities

  • Manage purchase orders based on inventory levels and production demand using an integrated ERP system
  • Analyze ERP/MRP reports to ensure materials align with forecasted production needs
  • Review and process purchase requisitions to secure high-quality components at competitive pricing
  • Evaluate and manage supplier performance related to cost, quality, and delivery
  • Source and qualify new suppliers
  • Establish, maintain, and improve purchasing processes and procedures
  • Maintain accurate and organized purchasing documentation
  • Negotiate, audit, and manage freight terms and costs
  • Perform additional duties as assigned
