About The Position

The Press Brake Operator is responsible for the setup, operation, and minor maintenance of press brake machines to bend, form, and shape metal sheets and plates according to specifications. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and adherence to safety protocols.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED from an accredited institution
  • Press brake and machine operations experience.
  • No relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of Sherman, TX will be considered.
  • Computer skills to include bending program loading.
  • Solid math, analytical, and reasoning skills.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs. alone occasionally to frequently, and up to 100 lbs. with assistance occasionally by stooping, reaching, bending.
  • Ability to stand for eight hours plus and perform repetitious tasks.
  • Requires PPE to include safety glasses, safety-toe shoes, ear protection, cut resistant sleeves, and any other PPE required by the position.
  • Environment exposure includes sharp objects, pinch points, oil, sparks.
  • Ability to work mandatory overtime, including Saturdays and up to 12 hours in a shift, as needed by the business.
  • Ability to stand for the duration of the shift (eight to twelve hours) and perform repetitious tasks.

  • Technical training or certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, understand, and proficiently operate all Press controls.
  • Troubleshoot various and appropriate machine problems.
  • ID and tag product with shop orders.
  • Retrieve/enter data into system.
  • Perform 1st article and required in process quality checks.
  • Use tools like calipers and protractors to ensure the accuracy and quality of finished pieces.
  • Ensure proper documentation on all parts.
  • Maintain components and supplies as required to operate efficiently.
  • Brake components based on print specifications.
  • Identify and resolve problems that arise during the forming process.
  • Perform 5S & Continuous Improvement activities.
  • Follow all safety guidelines and wear necessary protective gear.
  • Cross train others as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
