About The Position

The Ammonia Service Technician position is responsible for traveling to various facilities across the DFW metropolitan area to perform highly diversified duties such as installing, repairing, maintaining, and testing facility equipment according to predictive & productive systems as well as following safety guidelines and protocols. May travel up to 25% outside of the metroplex. Description Responsibilities: Provide customer and service support while maintaining and repairing industrial ammonia refrigeration systems. Maintain a neat and clean appearance; be motivated and have a positive attitude. Ensure that proper safety and incident reporting procedures are followed and bring questions and concerns to the attention of the Service Coordinator and Service Manager. Ability to maintain a clean driving record and willingness to travel as needed throughout the metroplex and surrounding areas. Manages all installation, repair, maintenance, and testing required to resolve problems. Diagnose problems and determine proper solutions, discuss resolutions with customer and Service Manager. Complete pump-outs and start-up equipment upon completion of construction. Submit expense reports and weekly timesheets to Controller and Service Coordinator. Other duties as assigned. Skills & Knowledge: Working knowledge of screw and reciprocal compressors, electrical troubleshooting of common types of ammonia refrigeration systems, and control alarm systems. Ability to troubleshoot and repair ammonia industrial refrigeration, mechanical and electrical systems. Knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, electrical, and micro-compressor control systems. Exceptional safety knowledge of tools, testing devices and surroundings. Strong mechanical aptitude skills. Ability to read and interpret ammonia refrigeration manuals, drawings, and documents. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, detail-oriented and highly motivated. Ability to work unsupervised or with limited instruction. Basic computer skills in Microsoft Word or Excel (or their equivalents) for documentation. Available to be on call nights, weekends, and overtime as required. Physical Demands: Physically capable of climbing ladders, high elevations, and lifting up to 50 lbs. This position requires the ability to move frequently, kneel, stand, climb, walk, and sit.
