Summary: The painter sets up and completes painting assignments by the requirements of the client - this includes the quality level, meeting the delivery schedule, and with little or no wasted time and/or materials.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Three to five years of related experience and/or training.
  • Reads and understands blueprints, schematics, and/or measuring devices.
  • Follows processes and standard procedures.
  • Hands on, get it done attitude.
  • Uses hand tools and power tools.
  • Work in a high energy, high volume, rapidly changing environment.
  • Displays a high level of initiative, effort, and commitment towards completing assignments in a timely manner.

  • Operate a motor vehicle, forklift, and/or other heavy equipment.
  • Picking, pinching, typing or otherwise working, primarily with fingers rather than with whole hand or arm as in handling.
  • Prolonged periods working on feet, using tools, and performing repetitive actions that entail frequent bending and stooping.
  • Read instructions, operate machines, and inspect parts produced.
  • Repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.
  • Visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and operation of machines.
  • May be required to wear respiratory protection, through the entirety of shift. Including, but not limited to PAPR units, SCBA’s, full face, half face, and dust masks.
  • Required to pass respiratory medical evaluation, as well as medical fit test for provided respirators in accordance with OSHA or state specific requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews blueprints and job folders for all new jobs assigned to ensure a clear understanding of what is to be done.
  • Review the job folder and follow up regularly with their immediate Supervisor to ensure they are using the most up-to-date prints and specifications.
  • Keep immediate Supervisor updated daily on the paint schedule progress.
  • Proper storage and handling of paint based on MSDS standards and guidelines.
  • Equipment and paint booth maintenance.
  • Ensure all details and/or tools are moved to the proper staging areas in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring all jobs are properly prepared for painting before moving them into the paint booth.
  • Maintaining a clean work area, including doors/floors outside the Painting Booth.
  • Inspect the tooling after painting, identifying, and inspecting at critical junctures.
  • Ensure you have the proper tools to perform these Quality Control checks and that you know how to use these tools properly.
  • Safety operates of forklifts and cranes.
  • Track painting material flow daily.
  • Ensure paint and supplies are ordered to meet demands.
  • Properly manages waste removal for paint and supplies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
