About The Position

Industrial Actuator and Valve Service Technician — Entry Level (Las Vegas, NV) Do you like turning wrenches, tracing signals, and making equipment work like it should? Are you the person who reads the manual and the P&ID, then figures it out on-site? If so, you’ll feel at home at Caltrol. Imagine this In your first year, you’re traveling for training — sometimes overnight — learning from Emerson and seasoned Caltrol pros. Soon you’re behind the wheel of a company truck, arriving at a refinery or plant to diagnose a sticky control valve, rebuild a pneumatic actuator, and verify loop functionality. The next day, you’re back in the Las Vegas shop, repairing instrumentation and helping keep our test stands calibrated and our inventory organized.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • 2–3 years in field service or instrumentation, or equivalent electrical/mechanical competency.
  • 2–3 years working with control valves.
  • Fluency with valve/pneumatic/hydraulic actuators.
  • Experience with shipping, receiving, and inventory processes.
  • Ability to read and apply work instructions, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
  • Strong mechanical skills; welding background preferred.
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; able to operate company vehicles safely.
  • Customer-first communication — clear writing and speaking.

Nice To Haves

  • Training in instrumentation, control, or isolation valves is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Spend most of your time in the field servicing customer sites across NV, CA, and AZ.
  • Perform shop repairs on valves, actuators, and associated instrumentation.
  • Support other Caltrol repair centers on the West Coast.
  • Handle local logistics — pick up and deliver valves for customers.
  • Help maintain the Valve Shop, tools, and equipment.
  • Drive a company/service truck safely to job sites.
  • Complete all training, classes, and certifications required for site access.
