About The Position

The placement will be part of a dynamic visitor service team at the Kenai
National Wildlife Refuge in Soldotna, Alaska; successfully facilitate a variety
of summer camps, special events, and educational/interpretive programs; and
provide accurate information to Refuge visitors.

Requirements

• Driver’s license
• This SCA Position is authorized under the Public Land Corps Authority. All participants must be between the ages of 16 and 30, inclusive, or veterans age 35 or younger.
• Participants must also be a citizen or national of the United States or lawful permanent resident alien of the United States.
• Hours served can be applied toward the Public Land Corps (PLC) hiring authority.

Responsibilities

• Placement will assist with the preparations and facilitation of two different Kenai Refuge summer day camps (for ages 6-11; 2nd-5th graders), 50%
• Presenting environmental education and wildlife interpretive nature programs, 10%
• Assist ranger staff in visitor center, campgrounds, fishing area patrols, and roving contacts, 30%
• Trail/cabin patrol work, 10%
