Responsibilities may include, but are not limited, to: Tax Compliance: Gather data for filings such as sales and use tax, property tax filings, business licenses, and unclaimed property Prepare Indirect Tax filings such as sales, use, gross receipts and similar transaction-based tax returns, business licenses, reportable cash transactions, Secretary of State annual reports, and trade name renewals Research issues and work with management to resolve tax notices, as directed Follow and apply appropriate document retention policies Tax Audits & Projects: Pull and prepare documents to send to taxing jurisdictions Assist in compiling jurisdictional tax audit reconciliations Assist with seasonal and project assignments related to various Indirect Tax areas of responsibility, as directed Exempt Transactions: Research and provide tax guidance to internal and external customers regarding exemption certificates Provide assistance to the Manager’s efforts in reviewing and processing exemption certificates, as needed Review and provide guidance to tax team regarding tax write-off requests, when needed Regular and predictable attendance and punctuality are essential functions of this position. Specialized Knowledge and Skills: Knowledge of accounting and tax concepts and principles; Solid oral and written communication skills for internal and external contacts; Ability to take ownership of all assigned projects and tasks; Excellent time management, communication, and organizational skills; Proficient computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office products, experience with ERP and billing systems, sales tax software and tax research experience a plus Work Environment: Normal office environment and general working conditions; Must be willing to occasionally work outside of the normal scheduled work day, including occasional weekends, to meet deadlines and complete special projects; Must be able to handle a high volume/large variety of work within provided deadlines

Requirements
