About The Position

Baker Hughes, a global energy technology company operating in over 120 countries, is seeking an Indirect Sourcing Specialist. This role is part of the Sourcing organization, which focuses on building strong supplier partnerships, achieving competitive commercial outcomes, and supporting profitable project execution across the enterprise. The specialist will be responsible for negotiating complex contracts with dedicated providers in accordance with established sourcing policies, aiming for the best possible contractual conditions while balancing cost, risk, and internal stakeholder satisfaction. The position involves supporting tender and project execution phases by ensuring robust sourcing strategies, coordinating negotiations, and managing claims. Additionally, the Indirect Sourcing Specialist will advise internal stakeholders, lead sourcing projects, and contribute to the long-term commercial and organizational success of the company.

Requirements

  • Have a bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in Tender and Project Sourcing.
  • Have strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Have strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to influence stakeholders.
  • Have demonstrated ability to analyze problems and develop effective solutions.
  • Have proven experience leading programs or projects.
  • Have strong planning, documentation, and execution capabilities.
  • Have established project management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Ensuring accurate and complete sourcing assumptions are developed to support winning and profitable projects during the tender phase.
  • Coordinating negotiations with commodity managers and local buyers during project execution.
  • Directly negotiating selected commodities in alignment with sourcing strategies and policies.
  • Managing supplier claims and supporting resolution of commercial issues.
  • Providing sourcing advice and guidance to functional management and business teams on approaches, projects, and programs.
  • Communicating effectively with internal stakeholders regarding sourcing methods, strategies, and solutions to complex problems.
  • Leading the design and implementation of sourcing‑related projects and initiatives.
  • Managing work objectives spanning 1–2 years with measurable impact across a 12–24-month time horizon.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement of sourcing processes, methodologies, and ways of working.
