About The Position

This position will be a key contributor to customer success by ensuring highest part availability for Workhorse locations, Service and Warranty, to ensure our Operations and Customers are able to achieve the highest uptime and lowest return-to-service time metrics in the industry for each of our vehicles for their vehicle class. They will develop and lead a high-performance Service Parts Organization with cross-functional input, to establish processes, procedures, and methods to identify required components and sub-systems to be warehoused for availability for service regionally. This position will work directly with customers and the sales team to establish the most economically beneficial balance of inventory value and part availability, setting stocking levels for service parts. Based on data analysis, identify optimum locations for warehousing, develop and execute strategies to implement in conjunction with the Director of Production Control & Logistics. Continually identify required service parts, identify / specify regional locations for warehousing of material. Data and analysis are of a real-time and complex nature that requires significant attention to detail as well as metric definition and regular reporting to ensure we have a world class process to support our dealer network with service parts.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, mathematics, engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 5 plus years of industry experience in an analysis function, preferrable in the automotive industry or distribution
  • Strong analytical, communications, planning and cross-functional teamwork skills
  • High-energy and highly-collaborative with an ability to drive change and manage through influence, but with the confidence to make decisions and lead the charge.
  • Ability to thrive in a fluid environment and comfortable with change.
  • Significant experience working in a highly matrixed and team-based environment with minimal leadership direction other than guidance and support.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and experience in a Service Parts Organization process and leading successful execution.
  • Negotiation and contract management experience
  • Lean six sigma inventory management with experience implementing Kanban system
  • Experience in a large OEM or Tier 1 service parts environment with multiple regional warehouse locations analyzing parts usage and pricing in conjunction with Sales and Financial.
  • Experience with multiple ERP solutions, specifically QAD as the primary analysis and interface tool.
  • Be willing to travel up to 20%, domestic only
  • Be willing to work in Union City, IN

Responsibilities

  • Define optimum service parts content and quantities to purchase and set stocking levels for service parts to have the most economically beneficial balance of inventory value and part availability
  • Based on data analysis, identify partnerships and optimum locations for warehousing, develop and execute strategies to implement to profitably provide service parts that meets customer demands
  • Define specific warehousing locations and/or third-party partnership locations in conjunction with Logistics.
  • Reverse Logistics Management – Establish return program for service items needing for return and maintained the process via audits and training.
  • Create and execute a consistent methodology to add shipping and packaging costs to sales orders
  • Provide subject-matter expertise and ensure implementation of industry best-practices in service parts.
  • Continually monitor service parts requirements, quantities, and stocking to ensure optimum component levels and overhead costs.
  • Data and analysis are of a real-time and complex nature that requires significant attention to detail as well as metric definition and regular reporting to ensure we have a world class process to support our dealer network with service parts.
  • Continuous improvement of KPI’s
  • Manage the PFEP of all service parts and Indirect supplies
  • Create standard documents, processes and workflows in accordance with world class manufacturing and lean philosophy.
