About The Position

To assist with loan requests, providing support needed to process, underwrite, and facilitate positive loan growth in the Indirect Lending Area. Operate within policy and credit authority to approve or deny loan applications based on analysis. Is responsible for processing and documenting work thoroughly, accurately and in compliance with applicable rules, regulations and credit union procedures.

Requirements

  • One year to three years of similar or related experience.
  • A college degree is preferred but can be substituted with equivalent experience.
  • A significant level of trust and diplomacy is required, in addition to normal courtesy and tact. Work involves extensive personal contact with others and/or is usually of a personal or sensitive nature.
  • Work may involve motivating or influencing others. Outside contacts become important and fostering sound relationships with other entities (companies and/or individuals) becomes necessary.
  • Ability to coordinate with other staff, departments, officials, and the public.
  • Ability to communicate ideas and instructions clearly and concisely.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office software
  • Knowledge of Federal and State Credit regulations will be needed.

Responsibilities

  • Assists potential borrowers with completion of electronic loan applications.
  • Reviews submitted applications for accuracy and completion, requesting additional information or detail as needed from dealerships.
  • Submits application to credit analysts or, when appropriate, examines application and creditworthiness of potential borrowers.
  • Determines or makes recommendations within guidelines and limits, regarding approval or denial/modification of requested loan.
  • Ensures a loan decision is communicated to the applicable dealership within 15 minutes.
  • Promotes business relationship with Auto Dealers, resolving contract issues (involving the Consumer Loan Manager as needed).
  • Completes accurate Stipulations for loans and takes action to resolve problems.
  • Assists Funding Dept. as needed by contacting the Dealership when Contract stips are missing.
  • Ensures that CU Policies and Procedures are followed; Ensures compliance with applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations, including Adverse Action notices.
  • Coordinates work activities and schedule with VP of Lending and other Indirect Lenders.
  • Completes all required compliance/operations training in a timely manner.
