We are seeking an Indirect Lending Processor responsible for processing indirect lending packages received from authorized franchise auto, motorcycle and boat dealers according to established guidelines. Research background information prior to funding dealer on retail installment contract. Perform a variety of support duties related to the indirect lending function within the Credit Union.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • One year to three years of lending or related experience in a bank and/or credit union
  • Knowledge of Federal and State financial institution laws and regulations pertaining to deposit, loan, and electronic products and services.
  • Exceptional analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to respond to a competitive and rapidly changing financial service environment.
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines in fast paced environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Must be dependable and reliable.
  • Must pass all credit and bond requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Receive electronic and paper indirect lending packages from authorized franchise dealerships for processing.
  • Using the indirect lending funding checklist, gather and verify the accuracy and completeness of loan package documents including, but not limited to: • Verify all the required documentation has been provided which includes the retail contract, credit application(s), purchase agreement, title application, invoice/JD Power valuation, insurance documentation, documentation for additional products purchased, EFCU Financial membership application, proper identification, and any other stipulations required by the underwriters. • Verify all signatures and initials are acquired. • Compare dealer call back sheet (loan approval) to retail contract received. • Determine sufficiency of collateral according to published EFCU Financial Indirect Lending Guidelines. • Verify debt-to-income ratio is within the Credit Union’s guidelines. • Calculate and verify loan-to-value and backend products are within the Credit Union’s guidelines. • Verify and calculate proof of income.
  • Using the indirect lending verification form, gather and verify background information such as clearing the red flag policy, interviewing loan applicants to verify accuracy of retail contract, employment verification when required, and check for Military Lending Act covered borrower(s).
  • Be knowledgeable in fraud prevention and red flags.
  • Maintain knowledge of state and federal regulations that are applicable to indirect lending.
  • Communicate with dealerships by portal, email, and/or phone to obtain missing documents for indirect lending funding packages.
  • Present any indirect lending package funding issues to the Vice President of Consumer Lending or Chief Lending Officer for approval prior to funding.
  • Upon completion of the indirect lending package, input all information needed into the indirect lending loan origination system for funding, transfer information to the core system using the apex, open and deposit funds into the new share account, and update loan details.
  • Send funding notifications and daily reports to the Credit Union’s accounting department for dealership proceeds to be sent out through Automated Clearing House (ACH).
  • Assist in servicing loans by providing loan payoffs, submitting ACH information, mailing out member(s) welcome packet/disclosures as needed, and assisting members with loan questions.
  • Communicate and build rapport with dealers.
  • Maintain a filing system and procedures to monitor that the required documentation is received and maintained appropriately and according to EFCU Financials Policies and Procedures.
  • Understand and apply new loan products and services in accordance with the Credit Union’s strategic plan.
  • Cross sell lending products and other Credit Union services when appropriate.
  • Assist in other assigned duties.
