About The Position

The Indirect Lending Funding Officer is responsible for facilitating the funding of dealer contracts. This role involves providing accurate and timely loan-related product and service information to credit union members and auto dealership staff. Additionally, the position supports the overall business objectives of the credit union by assisting with policy implementation, process improvement, and procedural adherence across departments.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year loan processing experience preferred (exclusive of share/CD and Payday lending).
  • Experience with industry-specific software (e.g., Temenos, RouteOne, and Dealertrack) is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Excel preferred.
  • Familiarity with lending calculators and finance computations.
  • Knowledgeable in credit union lending policy and lending regulations including but not limited to: Reg B, Reg Z, FACTA & FCRA, Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA).
  • Must be detail oriented and organized.
  • Must work well under pressure and be able to remain on task with minimal interruptions.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new systems and processes is critical to this position.
  • Must have strong communication skills and be able to communicate effectively and with tact with car dealers, finance officers, office managers, members and branch staff.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible availability for weeknight and occasional Saturday overtime as needed to ensure timely funding of contracts.
  • While Saturday hours are not currently required, availability may be expected should business needs change.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately audit and process dealer funding applications, ensuring compliance with credit union policies and procedures.
  • Verify membership eligibility, open new membership accounts, and review loan documents for accuracy in both electronic and paper formats.
  • Facilitate the opening of memberships through the Audubon Society for applicants outside the credit union’s community charter.
  • Ensure timely and accurate loan funding while upholding fiduciary responsibility to the credit union throughout the dealer funding process.
  • Collaborate closely with indirect loan officers and management to resolve discrepancies between contract terms and loan approvals, ensuring accurate and timely loan funding.
  • Communicate with dealerships, members, and prospective members to obtain any missing documentation or information required to complete and fund loan applications.
  • Assist with daily balancing.
  • Complies with all local, state, and federal regulations, as well as credit union policies and procedures, as required for this position.
  • Maintain knowledge of branch operations by completing Deposit Regulation and Product and Service Certification courses.
