About The Position

The Indirect Lending Business Development Manager supports the growth and strategic development of the credit union’s indirect lending program. This position works with department leadership to expand dealer relationships, strengthen partnerships, and drive production volume through indirect channels. Primary responsibilities include identifying new opportunities, negotiating agreements, monitoring performance, product and program enhancements and ensuring compliance with organizational goals and regulatory requirements. The role also involves market research, outreach, and representation at industry events to promote the credit union’s indirect lending program. Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Additional hours may be required to meet business needs. Location: Williston, VT or Montpelier, VT with some travel across New England required.

Requirements

  • Five years to eight years of similar or related experience, including preparatory experience. Similar or related experience, in indirect auto lending, dealer relationship management, or financial services business development.
  • A two-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school required.
  • Courtesy and tact are essential elements of the job. Work involves personal contact with customers and others inside and outside the organization, generally regarding fairly routine matters for the purposes of giving and obtaining information or instructions, updating or referring. Communications generally require shorter and not in-depth discussions.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Favorable Background, Credit, Criminal, Bondability, and Reference Checks required.
  • Travel to other branches or locations may be required depending on position.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Researches and develops growth opportunities for the indirect lending program, including new dealer partnerships, geographic expansion, and product enhancements. Collaborates with department leadership and marketing as needed to plan and implement any initiatives. Identifies opportunities to engage indirect auto loan members and cross-sell additional EastRise products and services to strengthen member relationships and support deposit growth.
  • Manages dealer outreach, communications, and follow-up to onboard approved partners in collaboration with the Senior Indirect Processor. Tracks performance metrics and reports results to consumer lending leadership. Works with internal teams to ensure cross-selling strategies are incorporated into onboarding and member engagement processes.
  • Represents the credit union at dealer meetings, trade shows, and industry conferences. Delivers presentations and collaborates with department leadership and marketing to develop promotional materials, including web content, brochures, or planned dealer events and education sessions. Promotes EastRise’s full suite of products and services to dealers as part of member growth initiatives.
  • Monitors trends in auto lending, dealer performance, and regulatory changes impacting indirect lending. Provides recommendations to leadership regarding opportunities and risks, including strategies to increase member penetration and deposit growth through cross-selling efforts.
  • Must comply with all company policies and procedures, applicable laws, and regulations, including but not limited to, the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control. Remains current with all credit union assigned training.
