The ILDA is responsible for representing and advising the donor; protecting and promoting the interests of the donor; and respecting the donor’s decision and ensuring that the donor’s decision is informed and free from coercion. It is expected that the ILDA will have knowledge and understanding of the transplantation and donation process. The ILDA may work independently or be part of a team of ILDA’s to support transplant program volumes & compliance.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of one year post-secondary education with coursework in a medical assistant program or nursing assistant program OR equivalent combination of education/experience in customer service or medical scheduling related capacity (one year of education equals one year of experience) required.
  • Strong organizational skills & the ability to prioritize and manage deadlines required.
  • Ability to work in a proactive self-directed manner required.
  • Ability to function in a manner that promotes efficiency and confidence required.
  • Demonstrated flexibility and dedication to team environment required.
  • Effective communication skills required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a healthcare environment preferred.
  • Clinical background in assigned area preferred.
  • Knowledge of living organ donation, transplantation, medical ethics, and informed consent preferred.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
  • Experience with electronic health records and/or Epic preferred.
