About The Position

Labette Health is seeking an experienced, hands-on Laboratory Supervisor to lead our small but vital clinical laboratory at our Independence campus. This role blends day-to-day management with bench-level testing—perfect for a MLT/CLS who enjoys both people leadership and direct patient-care impact.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Clinical Laboratory Science, or related field.
• Certification as MT/MLS/MLT (ASCP or equivalent) required.
• Minimum three (3) years of recent clinical laboratory experience; at least one (1) year in a charge, lead, or supervisory capacity preferred.
• Demonstrated competency across core laboratory disciplines and strong troubleshooting skills.
• Working knowledge of CLIA, CAP, or equivalent accreditation standards.
• Excellent interpersonal, coaching, and conflict-resolution abilities—comfortable leading a small, close-knit team.
• Ability to participate in limited on-call rotation for after-hours operational needs.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for day-to-day supervision or oversight of the laboratory operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results
• Resolution of technical problems in accordance with policies and procedures established by the laboratory director or technical supervisor
• QC/QA-Monitoring of test performance
• Conducts routine tests for the use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases, and performs related duties, following established standards and practices under the supervision of a technologist.
• Ensure regulatory compliance for CLIA, CAP, CMS and KDHE
