The purpose of this position is to ensure all eligible individuals receive timely public assistance benefits by determining or re-determining eligibility of Buncombe County residents applying for public assistance across multiple Income Maintenance programs. This role is hybrid, involving partial work-from-home with occasional work in the office. Buncombe County Health and Human Services offers a robust training program, including several weeks of on-the-job training, and a defined career development plan. Income Maintenance Caseworkers make a significant difference in people's lives by helping families, children, pregnant women, and elderly individuals access Medicaid and other medical care. Buncombe County is seeking team members ready and willing to grow, and welcomes applicants with direct customer experience in roles such as bank teller, customer service representative, bookkeeper, payroll clerk, medical billing, paralegal, or other clerical experience, as well as those with prior Income Maintenance Caseworker experience.
