About The Position

United Ability - Birmingham, AL 35211 Working 20 hours per week. This is a Grant Funded Role. United Ability is an organization that provides a variety of services to individuals with disabilities. We are currently seeking candidates to join our team as an Inclusion Consultant. This role covers a territory of 6 counties to provide training and consultation to teachers, pre-school teachers, caregivers, and parents to assist them in recognizing and addressing developmental delays in children from ages birth – 8 years of age. Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Special Education, or a related field is required.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 5 years previous teaching experience in early childhood setting is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills preferred.
  • Basic computer and PowerPoint presentation skills preferred.
  • Understanding of adult learning is preferred.
  • Ability to work varied work schedule that may include occasional evenings/weekends.

Responsibilities

  • Travel and cover a 6-county region.
  • Develop, prepare, and customize training programs that address developmental delays in preschoolers.
  • Develop informational handouts for children, caregivers, and teachers.
  • Deliver training information in a seminar style format for teachers.
  • Observes children on-site in a classroom setting.
  • Consults, observes, and provides technical assistance with equipment.
  • Provide required documentation.
