Manages and coordinates the inbound team and inbound/outbound DEA controlled substance operation of a fast paced Distribution Center to ensure all receiving, storing, handling, distribution of controlled substance, and administrative tasks are met according to DEA Regulations. Controlled Substance Overview: Ensures Controlled Substances pick slips are checked for completeness and accuracy. Ensures DEA Registration Number is included on every order. Pulls Controlled Substances products from stock for customer orders as pick slips are printed. Compares products to pick slips to ensure proper filling of orders (i.e., product size, strength, dating and unit of sale, quantities) and ensures product is shipped with accompanying literature, brochures, etc. Also ensures product codes and prices match, as well as product descriptions. Packs and prepares Controlled Substances to be shipped using the most economical and safe method of packing available. Ensures products are shipped in accordance with Department of Transportation regulations which includes, but is not limited to, proper labeling and logging of all products classified as hazardous materials. Ensures all orders have been checked for accuracy of picking prior to shipment; brings to the attention of the Distribution Center supervisor or manager, any and all errors relating to customer orders. Ensures Controlled Substances are shipped using commercial carriers approved for the shipment of Controlled Substances. Completes daily product inventory to ensure 100% inventory accuracy of Controlled Substances. Maintains records on Controlled Substances as required by the Controlled Substances Policies and Procedures Manual. Maintains an orderly and up-to-date UPS manifest filing system. Trains other members of the team who are engaged in handling controlled substances within the Distribution Center. Ensures that a minimum of one other teammate is competent in all areas of controlled substances and can serve as a back-up in the absence of the Controlled Substances Specialist. Inbound Supervisor Overview: Plans and directs all receiving, storing, handling returned/damaged goods, and administrative tasks to ensure customer and company requirements are met. Manages the inbound team in the unloading of freight trucks delivering merchandise to the DC; counting of pieces/ packages/ pallets; and signing of Bill of Ladings according to company policy. Ensures correct shipment has been delivered and all product received is accurately recorded in system Main point of contact for all inquiries regarding inbound operations. Works with internal partners (Accounts Payable and Purchasing) and vendors regarding orders received. Answers questions and provides information to resolve any outstanding issues in a timely manner. Communicates discrepancies to appropriate individuals which many include: Accounts Payable, Purchasing, Vendors, other DC facilities, and/or sales staff. Adheres to all protocol regarding the receipt of pedigrees: documents receipt appropriately, confirms shipments are accurate and approvals are obtained prior to distribution; follows up on outstanding approval requests to meet the needs of customer. Keeps accurate records, provides information and answers questions Schedules all inbound shipments and is main point of contact for carriers regarding initial scheduling and changes. Operates and maintains certification for material handling equipment such as forklifts and pallet-jacks, as required. Helps manage team’s performance, including: performance evaluations, training, development, coaching, disciplinary action and attendance management. Leads and assists in other projects and performs other duties as assigned.
