A day in the life By 7:30 a.m., the first truck is at the dock. You confirm the bill of lading, check counts against shipment records, and accept the delivery. With direction from the Manufacturing Supervisor, you route materials and parts to the right places so production never misses a beat. When customer-supplied equipment arrives, you stage it precisely where it belongs. Throughout the day, you keep inventory accurate, move heavy items safely, and resolve any receiving hiccups before they ripple downstream. Role snapshot Deliver incoming product to the correct inventory location, department, or individual. Verify shipment records, accept shipments, and distribute materials and parts entering the facility. Follow proper procedures for handling and placing heavy loads safely. Update and change inventory locations when required. Troubleshoot and resolve product or receiving-related issues. Direct or stage customer-supplied equipment in designated areas. Pitch in with other duties as assigned to keep operations flowing.
