About The Position

Applerouth is looking for a few new in-school small group middle school tutors and a couple of 8th and 9th-grade math tutors in South Fulton County, plus one American Literature tutor. These instructors are needed to replace outgoing instructors from the fall school semester. We’re on a mission to change lives — by helping students build the skills they need to tackle whatever hurdle is in front of them, no matter how big. We’re looking for dedicated tutors and educators to join us in our next big push: helping middle and high school students throughout Fulton County strengthen their math skills and overcome learning losses from pandemic-related school disruptions. Current Needs: Role: 9th-grade math small group instructors (focusing on content missed from 8th-grade). Location: School located in Fairburn, GA. Schedule (Fixed): In-school from 8:15 am to 2:00 pm, Monday through Thursday , following the Fulton County School Schedule. Role: Middle School math small group instructors. Potential school locations: Fairburn, Union City, College Park, East Point, or Southwest Atlanta. Schedule (Fixed) : Location dependent Role: High School American Literature small group instructor Location: School located in Fairburn, GA. Schedule (Fixed): two days per week from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm (flexible on which weekdays)

Requirements

• Content knowledge of middle school and high school algebra or American Literature
• Ability to explain concepts in multiple ways for students at different proficiency levels
• Previous experience working with children — e.g., tutoring, classroom support, mentoring, after-school programs, summer camps
• High school diploma (minimum)
• Reliable transportation
• Must pass a background check and fingerprinting (required by the school district and fully reimbursed )
