About The Position

Overview Black Desert Resort is an ultra-premium destination resort in Southern Utah offering luxury accommodations, refined dining, and elevated guest experiences. The In-Room Dining (IRD) program delivers high-quality food and beverage service directly to guest rooms, providing convenience, privacy, and a personalized dining experience. The In-Room Dining Server supports this experience by delivering exceptional service during peak demand periods and special events. Job Summary The In-Room Dining Server – On Call is responsible for delivering food and beverage orders to guest rooms in a timely, accurate, and professional manner during periods of increased business demand. This role ensures all orders are properly presented, set up according to service standards, and billed correctly. This position requires flexibility, strong guest service skills, and the ability to quickly integrate into the team to support operations as needed. Job Specifications Onsite: Black Desert Resort Shift & Schedule Availability: On Call / Variable Based on Business Demand Pay Rate: $8.00/hour plus portion of service charge and tips. This is the pay rate we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors. Requirements

  • Previous experience in food and beverage service, preferably in room service or fine dining.
  • Strong communication and guest service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and presentation.
  • Ability to carry trays and navigate guest floors efficiently.
  • Flexible availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of POS systems and order entry preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver food and beverage orders to guest rooms promptly and accurately.
  • Set up in-room dining trays, tables, and service equipment according to resort standards.
  • Provide a professional and courteous introduction when entering guest rooms.
  • Review orders with guests to ensure accuracy and satisfaction.
  • Maintain cleanliness and presentation of trays, carts, and service equipment.
  • Retrieve trays and service items from guest rooms in a timely manner.
  • Process guest checks, ensuring accurate billing and posting to room folios.
  • Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients, and preparation methods.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen and IRD team to ensure proper timing of orders.
  • Assist with order taking, answering phones, and entering orders into the POS system as needed.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of IRD service areas and storage spaces.
  • Follow all food safety and sanitation standards.
  • Handle guest requests, special accommodations, and service recovery professionally.
  • Uphold Black Desert Resort’s ultra-premium hospitality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
