Responsibilities

  • Monitor, coordinate, and validate received inventories.
  • Generate and monitor inventory transfers from the bonded warehouse to the regular warehouse to maintain adequate inventory levels.
  • Follow established procedures for the control and handling of documentation and processes required for the import and sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Control certificates and reconcile with Hacienda (Treasury Department).
  • Prepare permits and documents to withdraw alcoholic beverage shipments from the custody of carriers at Customs.
  • Prepare the monthly report of transactions for the Department of Hacienda.
  • Prepare the Monthly Permits report.
  • Prepare the monthly tax payment report for the Credit department for IVU (sales tax) purposes.
  • Maintain perpetual inventory control in the bonded ledger and reconcile with the lot ledger of the Internal Revenue agent, perpetual inventory in the BHI system, and physical inventory.
  • Responsible for coordinating the sealing of all merchandise that requires it for sale to military bases and other clients.
  • Coordinate the delivery of all military and other orders, including those delivered from the San Juan, Ponce, and Mayagüez warehouses. This process involves monitoring the order from 'OK to Pick' until the 'Tax Exemption Certificate' is received for Military Bases, Ship Chandlers, S.M.T. Duty Free, Exports (Virgin Islands, West Indies), Airport, Consulates, and Ships.
  • Coordinate and control the processes for requesting and destroying alcoholic beverages. These include requesting credit or permits from Internal Revenue, destruction certification, and others.
  • Keep bonded area procedures updated.
