About The Position

The Import Transportation Coordinator will assist in carrier selection while focused on cost control and continuous improvement within the department. This person will also participate in a cross-functional team consisting of, but not limited to, purchasing, customer service, finance, and trade compliance. This position is a full-time onsite position Monday - Friday. This is not a remote role.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Minimum 2 years Customer Service experience in a call center environment and/or Logistics/Supply Chain Management
  • Must possess excellent communication skills with proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Office.
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
  • Must be detail oriented, a self-starter, and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Diplomatic problem solver with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree is preferred
  • Import and/or International Business experience or education highly preferred
  • AS400 experience is highly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist in daily communication with carriers including articulating booking instructions as required
  • Maintain updated transportation costs in the AS400 and Routing Guide
  • Assist in investigating, negotiating, and processing claims related to transportation
  • Assist in day-to-day transportation issues that arise and work with the customer to resolve issues
  • Assist in working with the drayage companies and branches to help drive down transportation costs
  • Collaboratively work with accounts payable to audit freight payments and carrier billing accuracy
  • Maintain AS400 distribution and logistics modules including but not limited to, daily shipment processing
