About The Position

This is an exciting opportunity to work as an Import Specialist in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role requires full-time onsite work from Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Your main responsibilities will include managing and updating the import status for all inbound shipments across assigned regions, serving as the primary liaison with customs brokers, and ensuring compliance with evolving import regulations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in imports operations, customs brokerage, freight forwarding, and international transportation.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. Customs, FDA regulations, import compliance, and ABI systems.
  • Solid understanding of international freight terms, containerized shipping, and refrigerated cargo.
  • Familiarity with local port operations, inland container drayage, and free-time monitoring.
  • Familiarity with commercial seafood, including finfish, shrimp, crab, and squid.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and SharePoint.
  • Excellent organizational, multitasking, and data entry skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; comfortable collaborating with diverse stakeholders.

  • Experience with logistics, supply chain, import logistics, and transportation.
  • Knowledge of inventory management, packing slips, and bills of lading.
  • Customer service-oriented with a focus on stakeholder engagement.
  • Analytical skills and familiarity with C-TPAT, Editrade, and customs broker interactions.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update import status for all inbound shipments in the company database on a daily basis.
  • Serve as the primary liaison with customs brokers, freight forwarders, carriers, and cold storage partners to ensure smooth shipment flow.
  • Provide accurate and timely delivery of all containers, proactively mitigating risks such as demurrage, detention, or other avoidable costs.
  • Coordinate the disposition of incoming containers to facilitate timely and efficient delivery into cold storage, avoiding added expenses.
  • Help maintain supply chain security by observing company initiatives and reporting any security anomalies to management.
  • Read and understand company policies regarding C-TPAT and requirements of foreign vendors.
  • Stay informed on evolving import regulations, tariffs, and seafood-specific requirements to ensure company compliance.
  • Review and interpret international shipping documentation, such as bills of lading, invoices, packing lists, permits, and certifications.
