About The Position

GENERAL DESCRIPTION & RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide internal logistics support for the international programs of Universal Furniture, Legacy Classic Furniture, and Craftmaster Furniture. Interact with ocean carriers, customs brokers, trucking companies, and customers to maintain a smooth flow of import shipments. handle direct container issues as they arise. Provide assistance for container tracking requests. Coordinate container divisions. Obtain proof of deliveries (POD's)as needed. Submit and monitor container holds. Approve vendor invoices (non-broker invoices). Submit and monitor PierPASS releases and payments. Responsible for direct container shipping instructions-- prepare, distribute, and enter into ORACLE and monitor compliance. Request new ocean freight rate quotations and maintain internal freight rate spreadsheet. Classify repair parts on R.P. inovices-- to be done at the time of receipt from the factory. Handle all international logistics activities in accordance with US Customs regulations. Perform other duties as assigned by the Import/Export Department Manager. WORK EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS: Previous import experience is beneficial, but not required. Good problem solving skills needed. Strong organizational skills needed. Effective written and verbal communication skills needed. MS Word and MS Excel proficiency needed. ORACLE experience preferred. EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS: High School Diploma. updated 1-08
