The Import–Export Coordinator is responsible for executing and supporting international shipping activities during the second shift. This role ensures timely and compliant movement of materials and finished goods across borders, preparing documentation, coordinating with customs brokers, and communicating with internal and external partners. The position ensures that all import and export processes meet regulatory requirements and align with Nysonian’s logistics objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field (preferred).
  • 2–4 years of experience in import/export operations or customs compliance.
  • Knowledge of IMMEX, Incoterms, HTS classifications, and international trade regulations.
  • Strong understanding of customs processes and documentation.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with ERP/WMS systems is a plus.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • Availability to work second shift.

Responsibilities

  • Execute daily import and export transactions according to schedules and requirements.
  • Prepare, review, and maintain accurate shipping documentation (commercial invoices, packing lists, manifests, certificates, declarations).
  • Ensure compliance with customs regulations, trade agreements, and international shipping requirements.
  • Monitor shipments and coordinate with carriers, freight forwarders, and customs brokers for timely clearance.
  • Ensure all import/export activities comply with SAT, CBP, IMMEX, and other applicable regulations.
  • Maintain accurate records for audits, traceability, and reporting.
  • Verify tariff classifications, country of origin, and proper use of HTS codes.
  • Support internal audits and ensure document control for international trade processes.
  • Communicate shipment statuses to logistics, warehouse, purchasing, and production teams.
  • Assist with coordinating inbound materials to support production schedules.
  • Work with warehouse teams to ensure proper staging, labeling, and preparation of export goods.
  • Escalate issues related to delays, documentation discrepancies, or customs problems.
  • Record transactions in ERP/WMS systems and maintain up-to-date shipment data.
  • Track KPIs such as clearance time, on-time shipments, documentation accuracy, and logistics cost factors.
  • Prepare reports for management regarding import/export performance during second shift.
  • Identify opportunities to improve import/export workflow, documentation accuracy, and compliance.
  • Support Lean and Kaizen initiatives related to logistics processes.
  • Assist with implementing new digital tools, automation, or process enhancements.
