About The Position

The Import Export Agent I.K. Hofmann is looking for an immediate long-term contract opening for an Import Export Agent in Los Angeles, CA, for a Cargo facility. We are looking for ambitious and detail-oriented individuals to perform fast-paced office cargo work under supervision. They need to be flexible to work different shifts. Import/ Export Agents Pay Range Starting at $30.15

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED desired.
• Experience in cargo, logistics, or warehouse operations preferred.
• Must have open availability—able to work variable shifts, weekends, holidays, and cover for potential overtime as needed.
• Occasionally moves documents from the office weighing up to 50 lbs and remain stationary for extended periods.
• Proficient with computers and office equipment.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 75%-100% of the time (8-12.5-hour shifts).
• The person in this position must occasionally move about inside the office and/or warehouse to access invoices, office machinery, etc.
• The position requires constantly operating a computer and other office productivity machinery such as a computer, calculator, copier, and printer.
• Occasionally moves documents from the office to the warehouse weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Constantly positions oneself to maintain computers in the office, including under the desks and in the server closet.
• Able to conduct other tasks that may arise based on operation needs.
• Must be able to have an open schedule due to shift hours ranging (Employee will be provided with a schedule 2-3 weeks in advance).
• Must be eligible to work in the United States for any company without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Processes export and import inquires as per client requirements and procedures such as processing of discrepancies at acceptance
• Preparation and finalization of outbound flights/trucks handling of import documentation (delivery, transfer and abandoned shipment)
• Processes all Air Waybills and HAWBs and ensures accurate data capture as per client’s requirements and procedures
• Handles Special Cargo
• Initiates invoicing, accepts cash payments
• Performs Service Recovery activities (i.e. tracing, warehouse checks, offloads
• Performs Airmail Handling
• Fully supports the quality standards
• Works according to documented CHM and GOM procedures
• Observes and applies the security requirements of the client and local authorities
• Contacts customers, inform them of any/all irregularities
