About The Position

An established, respected and vertically integrated Florida Citrus Grower/Packer/Shipper is seeking a talented Import professional for an exciting new program. This newly created role will build relationships with new growers and develop new import agreements. The position is responsible for sourcing, procurement, grower relations, and will interface regularly with retail customers. This position can be remote based, ideally within the Southeastern U.S.

Requirements

• Established relationships and contacts with International citrus growers. Specifically South America.
• Strong knowledge of imported citrus varieties and specs.
• Thorough knowledge of produce markets and supply chain dynamics.
• Strong business acumen and negotiating skill set.
• College degree (B.A. /B.S.) in related fields of study desired, or relevant experience in the produce industry.

Nice To Haves

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage all aspects of sourcing strategy, including contracting and related purchasing decisions.
• Work with sales and marketing teams to identify, source and develop new products.
• Be the company expert in matters related to product quality and market trends.
• Frequent domestic and international travel as needed for sourcing, grower relations and retail customer presentations.
