About The Position

Healthy Living is seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Category Manager to join our Purchasing Team! This role is ideal for someone who brings a balance of strategic thinking, analytical skill, and a genuine interest in high-quality food and products. As a Category Manager, you will be responsible for the overall performance of assigned categories, including product selection, vendor partnerships, pricing, promotions, and ongoing analysis. You will play a key role in maintaining an assortment that meets guest expectations while supporting financial goals and remaining aligned with Healthy Living’s mission and ingredient standards. Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in retail category management, buying, or merchandising
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort working with retail math and performance metrics
  • Experience with retail systems, POS, and inventory management tools
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and vendor relationship management skills
  • Demonstrated alignment with Healthy Living’s Eight Essential Behaviors

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in natural or organic grocery retail
  • Experience with trade management systems
  • Knowledge of planogram development and space management principles
  • Familiary with Power BI, SPINS and other analytics tools

Responsibilities

  • Curate and manage product assortments that support customer needs, sales performance, and margin objectives
  • Identify, evaluate, and onboard new vendors and products aligned with Healthy Living’s quality and ingredient standards
  • Oversee new product setup, slotting, shelf placement, and discontinuations
  • Review and respond to customer product requests in a timely and thoughtful manner
  • Conduct regular category reviews using business intelligence tools
  • Analyze sales, margin, and space-to-sales data to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Lead category resets, including planogram coordination and execution support
  • Maintain category margins through strategic pricing and cost management
  • Plan and execute promotions, including Temporary Price Reductions
  • Manage trade programs to maximize available funding
  • Build and maintain accurate Trade Master files and ensure pricing accuracy across systems
  • Create, execute and report on bi-weekly and monthly promotional planning (MAP, SIP, TRACE)
  • Develop and maintain productive vendor relationships
  • Partner closely with Buyers, Operations, Trade Management, and Marketing teams
  • Communicate promotional plans and category updates clearly and consistently
  • Collect product images, brand information, and promotional assets from vendors
  • Review marketing materials to ensure accuracy in pricing and product details
