About The Position

Role Overview Job Titles: Technical Facilities Equipment Engineer (V3 Organization) Number of Openings: 2 Locations: Position 1: Tulsa, OK (12223 State Farm Blvd). o Position 1: DFW Area, TX (Can work out of Richardson, Irving/600 Hidden Ridge, or the Euless switch/MTSO). Work Model: Hybrid (3 days in office, 2 days remote). Note: This is not a desk job; engineers will frequently walk the floors and conduct site walks. Organization Context: This is a brand-new "V3" organization that bridges the gap between Wireless (W) and Business (B) engineering to oversee installations across Central Offices, Data Centers, and TAP/SAP locations. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities (Day-in-the-Life) Project Management: Managing the end-to-end installation of network transport and 5G core equipment. Vendor Supervision: Overseeing third-party vendors who perform the physical installation (nuts, bolts, and fiber). The engineer does not do the physical labor but ensures it meets Verizon standards. Site Walks: Conducting site assessments to identify space, power, cooling, and material needs (ancillary materials like fiber jumpers, nuts, and bolts). System Work: Using Verizon-specific systems: Canvas (replacing CCP), Fuse, and internal project management databases. Quality Control: Performing "Construction Complete" walkthroughs and coordinating Layer 1 connectivity testing. ________________________________________ Candidate Requirements Top Skills & Experience Installation Background: Experience installing network equipment in Central Offices (CO), Data Centers, or MTSO/MTSO locations. Technical Familiarity: Understanding of floor plans, rack layouts, and "Hot/Cold" aisle standards. Power & Cooling: Familiarity with power and space requirements inside a facility. Willingness to Learn: Highly emphasized, as the team is currently cross-training across both Wireless and Business platforms. Experience Level & Background Verizon Experience: A plus but not required. Experience from competitors (AT&T, Nokia, etc.) or military technical backgrounds is highly valued. Education: Hands-on experience is preferred over a degree, though both are valued. Personality: Positive attitude and a desire to be part of a new, evolving organization.
