About The Position

Implementation Consultants at Fourth play a critical role in bringing our payroll solutions to life for customers, while also gaining exposure to Fourth’s broader suite of products. In this role, you’ll own the payroll onboarding and implementation journey from kick-off through go-live, partnering closely with customers and internal teams to deliver accurate, compliant, and confident payroll launches that support daily business operations across the United States. You’ll serve as both a trusted advisor and project lead, guiding customers through payroll discovery, configuration, data validation, testing, and training while navigating complex requirements along the way. As you grow in the role, you’ll also deepen your knowledge of additional Fourth solutions, expanding your expertise across our platform. Working cross-functionally with internal teams, you’ll help ensure each customer is set up for long-term success and sees real value from Fourth’s technology. Requirements

  • Strong implementation and project coordination skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while balancing time-sensitive priorities
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication skills
  • High level of ownership, accountability, and follow-through
  • Comfortable working in environments where priorities may shift as solutions are refined
  • 4–5+ years of experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within payroll implementation, professional services, customer success, or technical support
  • Proven success delivering complex technological implementations or onboarding engagements
  • Prior project management experience, with the ability to manage scope, timelines, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new products, tools, and evolving processes

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in payroll, POS, payments, or hospitality technology preferred; exposure to hardware installation and basic network configuration is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Own and manage the onboarding and activation phase for assigned U.S. projects, ensuring timely and successful go-lives.
  • Serve as the primary implementation point of contact for customers, guiding them through discovery, configuration, training, and launch readiness.
  • Manage onboarding timelines, dependencies, and risks, escalating issues as needed to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Customer Success, Product, and Engineering to align on scope, expectations, and handoffs.
  • Proactively identify onboarding challenges and implement scalable process improvements to drive consistency and efficiency.
  • Maintain a strong working knowledge of Fourth’s platform, products, integrations, and release roadmap to support informed implementation decisions.
  • Lead multiple concurrent onboarding engagements, balancing priorities and ensuring effective time and workload management.
  • Develop, maintain, and deliver onboarding and training materials for internal stakeholders and external customers.
  • Complete required system configuration, data entry, and data migration activities, including account setup and QA.
  • Capture, document, and track customer feedback, issues, and enhancement requests to support continuous improvement initiatives.
