Job Summary Under limited supervision, the Immigration Support Specialist will leverage a robust knowledge of all aspects of the office's immigration services and administrative workflows to monitor and coordinate assigned areas of case support, monitor and coordinate assigned areas of administrative responsibilities, and complete assigned case tasks, as needed. What You'll Be Doing: Monitoring and responding to requests for immigration wage analyses for new staff positions Conducting 'preliminary' wage analyses for all new staff position descriptions and as part of nonimmigrant cases assigned to counselors Drafting and submitting electronic Form eta9035 Labor Condition Applications as assigned, and once certified, providing wet signature as required by agency policy Initiating I-140 launch stage; submitting eforms and collecting Dept Support and Financial Support letters from respective offices Initiating outside counsel case evaluation, assignment of cases, tracking of which cases are assigned where, and tracking of invoices received from outside counsel Printing final forms when made available by outside counsel, and accurately prepares and signs employment letter Scanning and uploading/sharing all documents to outside counsel Running a pre-built, custom Labor Condition Application (LCA) report twice a week and posts electronic LCA notices Coordinating home posting notices for remote or hybrid workers or for new hires as they arrive on campus and obtain local residences, noting those cases where the worker is not permitted to work from home Coordinating LCA postings for those work visa cases assigned to outside counsel Initiating and compiling all H-1B / E-3 Public Inspection Files, updating PIFs as appropriate, and ensuring PIF records are maintained in compliance with regulations and ISS procedures First responder for "counseling" ([email protected]) email account: responds to emails or routes as appropriate; monitors [email protected] email account and escalates as needed In each case, applies knowledge of immigration rules, Purdue policies and procedures, and knowledge of office procedures and workflows, to identify potential issues and unusual circumstances in emails or e-form submissions Directly responds to emails or route as appropriate, based on review and analysis Serving as in-office backup in the event the Office Coordinator is unavailable, especially with respect to in-office presence, management of incoming documents and mail, billing, etc. Working in-office on rotating basis with all staff, two days per week, to ensure office coverage of services When employment or sponsored visa status ends early, coordinating withdrawal of petitions and LCAs as appropriate, closure of all eform groups, and final review of all data entry to ensure record is complete Participating in J-1 check-in validation at least 2x per week, as well as participating in Visiting Undergraduate Student (VUG) cohort checkins as assigned, following office procedures and while applying knowledge and experience of Sunapsis, SEVIS training, and office policies and procedures relating to J-1 scholars Assisting PISA with looking up info in Sunapsis such as date last RPS approved and whether new RPS needed Reviewing education submitted by J scholars and alerts PISA when there is a discrepancy between the type of J request (VUG versus Visiting Scholar) and the education of the scholar Generating and/or running reports from Sunapsis, as directed, utilizing knowledge of Sunapsis database structures, tables, and perform follow up tasks or audits, as directed Contributing to the characterization of ISS as Purdue's subject matter experts on immigration, and to ISS' pursuit of excellence in our services to our stakeholders and customers
