The Immigration Specialist plays a vital role managing immigration-related employment in a compliant, responsible way, enabling us to attract and retain a broad range of talent and deliver a positive employee experience. This role also contributes to business effectiveness and employee development by coordinating our global mobility cases, and to the success of the Americas HR team through cross-team collaboration on projects and initiatives. Please note this role will be 30 hours a week and will be a hybrid mix working between your home office and either our Burlington MA headquarters or our Raleigh NC office. You must be local to one of those locations to be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Legal Studies, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience supporting U.S. employment-based immigration, including PERM labor certification and green card processes and
  • 1+ years’ experience coordinating global relocations and temporary assignments.
  • Experience working with immigration attorneys and external vendors.
  • Solid working knowledge of requirements of USCIS and other immigration-related governmental departments.
  • Ability to interpret immigration regulations and explain them clearly to employees and stakeholders.
  • Ability to adapt and act with urgency and high touch in complex, changing and sensitive immigration matters.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, delivering clear, direct and sometimes difficult information with care and empathy
  • High level of attention to detail and confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency with immigration management platforms, such as Envoy or Fragomen Connect, and eVerify a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and manage U.S. employment-based immigration cases including H-1B, L-1, TN, O-1, E-3, PERM, and permanent residence processes.
  • Partner with external immigration counsel to prepare and file petitions, applications, and supporting documentation with USCIS and any other relevant governmental agencies.
  • Track case progress and maintain accurate immigration records and case management systems.
  • Serve as a point of contact for employees and managers regarding immigration status, timelines, and documentation requirements.
  • Monitor visa expirations, work authorization dates, and compliance deadlines. Update as needed via eVerify.
  • Assist with H-1B cap season planning, including candidate identification, documentation collection, and petition preparation coordination.
  • Ensure company compliance with U.S. immigration regulations and public access file requirements.
  • Co-create and/or maintain internal immigration policies.
  • Support immigration aspects of employee onboarding, transfers, promotions, and international assignments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in U.S. immigration laws and policies and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
  • Generate reports and metrics related to immigration case volume, status, and trends.
  • Partner with manager to improve immigration processes and employee experience.
  • Coordinate global mobility cases including execution of approved global mobility requests, in partnership with HRBPs, relocating employees and their managers, and engaging external expertise when needed. (Our mobility cases are quite low, currently 2-4 per year, but volume may grow over time.)
  • Contribute to and in some cases lead cross-team collaboration on projects and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.
