About The Position

The Immigration Coordinator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and coordination of the firm’s U.S. and global immigration programs, ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and a positive employee experience. This role serves as the primary HR owner of immigration case management, including end-to-end management of the H-1B cap season, and partners closely with external immigration counsel, Talent Acquisition, HR Generalists, and leadership within the business to support the workforce requiring immigration and work authorization Why Hazen and Sawyer: Founded in 1951 by the son of Allen Hazen (developer of the Hazen-Williams equation), we are an employee-owned company with a singular focus on "all things water." Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Legal Studies, International Relations, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Three or more years of experience in immigration coordination or global mobility.
  • Demonstrated experience managing H-1B cap season end-to-end.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and project management skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience supporting multi-site or project-based workforces.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management systems and HRIS platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate employment-based immigration matters for U.S. and global employees, including H-1B, TN, E-3, O-1, L-1, PERM, permanent residence processes, dependent visas, and global work permits.
  • Serve as the primary HR liaison with external immigration counsel and global vendors.
  • Track case milestones, expirations, travel considerations, and compliance deadlines.
  • Support onboarding, internal mobility, and offboarding processes for employees on work authorization.
  • Own the full H-1B cap lifecycle, including eligibility intake, documentation, and lottery registration. Partner with Talent Acquisition and business leaders on workforce planning and timing.
  • Manage employee and candidate communications and post-lottery outcomes.
  • Develop timelines, FAQs, and leadership updates throughout cap season.
  • Advise on immigration considerations related to client-site work and multi-location assignments.
  • Assess impacts of changes in job duties, compensation, or project scope.
  • Coordinate immigration support for domestic and international travel.
  • Maintain audit-ready immigration records and ensure confidentiality.
  • Support I-9 re-verification tracking and internal audits as assigned.
  • Develop and update immigration policies, SOPs, and employee communications.
  • Prepare metrics and reporting on case volume, cycle time, and program costs.
