The new University of Iowa Health Care North Liberty department of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist to perform procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exams. Duties Include: Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing CT imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision. Perform CT procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment. Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel, and equipment. Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff. Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient. Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. Use proper septic techniques including skin preparation and IV placement. Prepare and administer contrast material to patients under radiologist’s supervision as required. Provide instruction to trainees, students and other medical staff on operation and safety precautions. Maintain current knowledge of developments in CT and related subjects by attending meetings, continuing education programs, participates in professional organizations and/or reviews journals or publications. Perform CT imaging archiving functions and records exam information in the electronic medical record in a timely and accurate manner.
