About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care Department of Radiology is seeking an Imaging Technologist with primary duties in CT to p erform and teach specialized CT procedures utilizing complex imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam . Work schedule is Weekend Option Saturday and Sunday 1 130-0000 Position Responsibilities: · Perform and teach specialized imaging procedures utilizing CT imaging equipment with close patient monitoring during exam. This includes independent operation with minimal physician supervision. · Perform CT procedures using a variety of complex imaging and patient monitoring equipment. · Has knowledge of and applies CT safety precautions to minimize or eliminate risks to patients, personnel and equipment. · Has knowledge and understanding of key Service Excellence principles for interaction with patients and staff. · Establish rapport with patient and provide information about how the exam is performed and what is required of the patient. · Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public. Requirements

  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Current Permit to Practice issued by the Iowa Department of Public Health for all radiographers operating ionizing radiation emitting equipment is required.
  • Current certification or eligibility for certification in diagnostic procedures by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is required .
  • Senior Imaging Technologist: A Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or other Allied Health Sciences discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • Imaging Technologist: Successful completion of two-year or other approved program by Joint Review Committee in Radiologic Technology Education is required

Nice To Haves

  • Recent work or clinical education experience in CT.
  • CT modality training.
  • CT certification or eligible.
  • Work or clinical education experience in a Level 1 trauma center.
