Location: Sibley Memorial HospitalHours/Schedule: Every Saturday and Sunday 7AM – 11:30 PMPay Rate: $75/hour The CT Technologist is responsible for operating all CT scanners within the Imaging Department to perform high‑quality diagnostic examinations in accordance with physician orders, departmental protocols, and established safety standards. This role ensures efficient patient flow, accurate documentation within EPIC and PACS systems, and the delivery of safe, patient‑centered care.

Requirements

  • Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • CT Certification required
  • Current CPR certification
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist
  • Proficient in CT scanner operation, patient positioning, and IV contrast administration
  • Strong knowledge of cross‑sectional anatomy and ability to recognize and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills with strong critical thinking and problem‑solving abilities
  • Experience using EPIC and other hospital information systems; basic computer proficiency required
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced environment, managing multiple priorities under stress
  • Knowledge of patient care needs across age groups, primarily adult and geriatric populations

Responsibilities

  • Perform CT examinations in accordance with departmental protocols and safety standards.
  • Obtain and document relevant patient history; prepare patients for procedures and administer oral and IV contrast.
  • Monitor patients during exams, recognize changes in condition, and respond appropriately to emergencies, including CPR/first aid.
  • Verify patient identification and physician orders to ensure exam accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide radiation protection to patients, staff, and self in accordance with established guidelines.
  • Position and transfer patients safely to and from wheelchairs, stretchers, and the CT table.
  • Assist radiologists with CT‑guided interventional procedures, including biopsies.
  • Review relevant laboratory results in EPIC to support exam completion.
  • Perform routine equipment checks, report malfunctions, and coordinate service needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized work environment, including equipment disinfection and supply management.
  • Manage multiple priorities efficiently in a fast‑paced setting with frequent interruptions.
  • Support orientation of new staff and students and communicate effectively using hospital systems.
