Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, or a specialized field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP, etc.), or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience working in an imaging systems simulation technical environment.
  • Experience in Software development using Python and Matlab.

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Physics, or a related field (e.g., Optics, Sensors, Audio/DSP).
  • Experience developing tools or performing simulation to map imaging hardware design to camera performance metrics.
  • Knowledge of one or more of the following: optical design, image sensor design and characterization, photo and video processing pipelines, ISP algorithms, computational photography, and computer vision .
  • Excellent communication (verbal and written) skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead development of imaging system simulation tools for Google's consumer hardware products.
  • Define simulation workflows, capabilities, and performance goals, and validate against real hardware.
  • Research mobile and wearable imaging technologies.
  • Investigate imaging performance goals for multi-camera systems.
  • Collaborate with our partners in System Product Development/Electrical Engineering, Camera Hardware, Android Software team.
