About The Position

The Imaging Services Director is responsible for the overall leadership, management, and strategic direction of the Imaging Services Department. This role oversees daily operations, ensures high-quality patient care, maintains regulatory compliance, and supports departmental growth while actively participating in clinical coverage as needed.

Requirements

• Registered with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
• Certified by the State of Iowa to practice radiologic technology and administer radiation
• CRA Certification required within two (2) years of becoming eligible

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct the day-to-day operations of the Imaging Services Department
• Provide clinical coverage and participate in on-call rotations as needed while fulfilling director-level responsibilities
• Develop, implement, and regularly review departmental policies, procedures, goals, and objectives
• Prepare, manage, and analyze departmental budgets and financial performance
• Lead and support radiology staff by recruiting, onboarding, training, scheduling, coaching, and addressing performance or disciplinary matters
• Maintain and oversee quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
• Support high-quality patient care by identifying, resolving, and proactively addressing imaging and radiology-related issues
• Serve as a positive role model, demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and adherence to hospital values
• Drive departmental planning and growth by establishing annual goals and operational plans and reporting on progress
• Participate actively in hospital committees, organizational initiatives, public relations activities, patient satisfaction efforts, and community education programs as requested
