About The Position

The Innovative Medicine Business Development Internship is a full-time 10-week program where students are responsible for leading project(s) that support strategic business initiatives within the Business Development function. Internship assignments may include Financial Planning & Analysis, Commercial Strategic Assessments, Transactions & Negotiation, Search & Evaluation, and Due Diligence. Intern assignments will be within the J&J operating companies, supporting Innovative Medicine. The Internship will be located in either New Brunswick, or Titusville, NJ Successful candidates will possess the ability to work independently, and have strong problem solving, organizational, communication and analytical skills. Interns will participate in organized activities, including live trainings to build J&J business acumen, networking with peers and senior leaders, opportunities to experience company culture and build understanding of career opportunities within J&J. Business Development (BD) is a key driver of organizational growth and leadership development. By shaping strategic investment decisions and fostering cross-functional collaboration, BD ensures the organization remains at the forefront of healthcare innovation. About the Internship: This internship offers a unique opportunity to immerse yourself in the strategic, scientific, and commercial aspects of bringing a new drug to market, with a strong focus on external innovation. You will gain hands-on exposure to: The full drug development lifecycle Regulatory frameworks and compliance Intellectual property strategies Pricing and commercialization models Deal-making fundamentals, including structuring, negotiation, and presentation What You’ll Do: Engage in targeted one-on-one interactions with leaders across key functions Learn how cross-functional collaboration drives success in a competitive industry Contribute to strategic decision-making and identify opportunities for external innovation What You’ll Gain: By the end of the program, you will: Understand the Business Development process end-to-end Be equipped to articulate strategic considerations in healthcare innovation Develop practical skills in negotiation, analysis, and collaboration

Requirements

  • You must be an undergraduate student pursuing a full time degree with an anticipated graduation date in 2027 or later.
  • Leadership capabilities demonstrated through previous employment, internship experiences and/or extracurricular activities is required.
  • Must have permanent work authorization in the U.S. without requiring sponsorship now or in the future (no visa status).
