About The Position

The Industrial Light and Magic Visual Effects Global Production department is responsible for strategic oversight of all visual effects at the studio, including work on Star Wars and other IP in feature films, Television, theme park experiences, commercial tie-ins, etc. This department works with Executives and Producers to budget, plan, and staff for projects and then oversees production handled by the individual teams assigned at ILM. As our intern, you will provide administrative and back up support to the VFX production team , while gaining an opportunity to learn about the production environment and process at ILM. The approximate dates of this in-person internship are June 1st-August 28th, 2026 in San Francisco, CA.

Requirements

  • Technical competence on both PC and Mac platforms, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Mail
  • A general understanding of the film and VFX process, with a desire to work in the industry
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting effectively with diverse personalities
  • Strong time management skills with the ability to multitasks and shift priorities quickly in response to changing circumstances.
  • Excellent organizational and follow through skills.
  • Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Film, Art, Theater or related
  • Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
  • Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.
  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • Possess unrestricted work authorization
  • Must be able to have a consistent, reliable full-time work schedule throughout the internship
  • The dates of this internship are June 1st- August 28th, 2026
  • Must be Fully available between to work during standard business hours, as well as flexibility to work some evening/weekend events as needed
  • Must provide own housing and reliable transportation during the internship in the San Francisco, CA area

Responsibilities

  • Managing show life-cycle reports
  • Acting as a Production Assistant
  • Coordinating details and schedules for Departmental meetings
  • Hosting guests and executives during their time onsite
