The team You will join a highly skilled group of architects, engineers, and manufacturing technology experts focused on designing and governing enterprise-level solutions that modernize and optimize manufacturing operations. The team partners closely with business stakeholders, plant engineers, operations leaders, and IT to drive Industry 4.0 initiatives, digital transformation, and smart factory adoption across the organization. The role As the Manufacturing Solution Architect , you will lead the end-to-end solution design for complex manufacturing environments spanning shop-floor systems, enterprise applications, cloud platforms, and industrial automation technologies.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or related field (Master’s preferred).
  • 10+ years in IT, systems integration, or enterprise architecture.
  • 5+ years specifically in manufacturing or industrial automation environments.
  • Deep understanding of manufacturing operations, MES, SCADA, PLCs, HMI, DCS, and industrial systems.
  • Strong experience with enterprise integrations across MES, ERP, PLM, QMS, EAM.
  • Expertise in cloud platforms (AWS/Azure), microservices, edge computing, and modern software practices.
  • Strong knowledge of integration patterns (APIs, middleware, OPC-UA), data modeling, interoperability, and OT/IT cybersecurity.
  • Familiarity with ERP platforms such as SAP or Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Understanding of Industry 4.0 technologies including IIoT, predictive maintenance, and digital twins.
  • Experience with EAM solutions like Maximo.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional teams and handle multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

  • TOGAF, ArchiMate, or other architecture framework certifications.
  • AWS/Azure/GCP Solutions Architect (Professional/Master level).
  • MES or ERP platform certifications (SAP PP/ME, Rockwell, Siemens).
  • PMP or Agile project management certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business, engineering, and IT teams to define solution requirements aligned with manufacturing strategies.
  • Design scalable, secure, and efficient architectures integrating MES, SCADA, IoT, ERP, PLM, QMS, and related systems.
  • Drive architectural leadership for smart factory initiatives including IoT, analytics, microservices, and digital twins.
  • Ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, cybersecurity frameworks, and regulatory requirements.
  • Select appropriate technologies, vendors, tools, and platforms for manufacturing systems.
  • Provide hands-on technical guidance throughout the solution lifecycle—from conceptual design through implementation.
  • Support process mapping, system configuration, gap analysis, and integration design.
  • Develop and maintain architectural documentation such as system blueprints, data flow diagrams, and integration patterns.
  • Identify risks, propose mitigation strategies, and ensure seamless delivery of solutions.
  • Stay ahead of Industry 4.0, cloud, data, and automation trends.
